  • Adhesive Backed version of our PTFE Coated Glass Fabric Cloth.
  • Flexible, non-stick cloth with a smooth surface finish and very low surface friction.
  • Excellent resistance to chemicals, abrasion and temperature. Withstands -72° to +260°C.
  • Excellent UV and weather resistance, washable, water repellent with a high dielectric strength.

Our Adhesive Backed PTFE Coated Glass Fabric is an adhesive version of our standard PTFE Coated Glass Fabric. This cloth has a silicone adhesive on one side that allows it to be stuck into place.

Apart from this, there’s not a lot of differences between the two cloths as both exhibit excellent chemical resistance, high electrical insulation capacity and a smooth, non-stick finish (on the non-adhesive side).

This easy to handle cloth is used in all kinds of industries and applications. It is available in two standard thicknesses, both of which are available from this page by the lineal metre. We can also produce all kinds of custom cut parts from this cloth for everything from electric motor insulation through to non-stick liners for conveyors and food processing equipment.

More information on this quality Adhesive Backed PTFE-Glass is included in the sections below:

Silicone Adhesive Backing.

A material’s temperature resistance is largely determined by the weakest link. In many adhesive backed materials, this is the adhesive. To mitigate this, our Adhesive Backed PTFE Coated Glass Fabric is coated on one side with a high temperature silicone adhesive.

This adhesive has the same maximum operating temperature as the PTFE Glass ensuring no sacrifices are made in terms of thermal endurance. It also has good adhesive properties and bonds well to a wide range of different materials and substrates.

The adhesive backing on this cloth is protected by a peel off layer that is easy to remove.

High Temperature Resistance.

Our Adhesive PTFE Coated Glass Cloth has excellent resistance to both low and high temperatures. This fabric can withstand continuous exposure to environments between -72°C and +260°C. It can also handle short-term, intermittent spikes as high as 300°C.

Non-Stick with Excellent Release Properties.

One of the primary features of this type of composite cloth is its non-stick surface. Thanks to the PTFE coating, PTFE Glass Cloth exhibits very low friction and excellent release properties. The surface has a very low amount of surface energy which ensures it naturally rejects adhesion and bonding.

This has led to PTFE Coated Glass Fabric being widely used as a release lining and in other applications that require an anti-adhesive barrier. Of course, this isn’t true about the adhesive backed side. The preceding information applies to the non-adhesive side only.

Abrasion Resistant with Good Mechanical Strength.

Though it is lightweight and very flexible, PTFE Coated Fibreglass Fabric is quite strong. The fibreglass reinforcement in the middle ensures this material has excellent tensile strength and resists tearing. The smooth PTFE finish naturally resists abrasion.

Durable and Long Lasting.

Our PTFE Coated Glass Fabric is extremely long lasting. This material can be used indoors or outdoors as it has excellent UV resistance and withstands the effects of weathering. It is naturally water repellent and is washable.

Excellent Chemical Resistance & Good Electrical Properties.

Thanks to the PTFE finish, PTFE Coated Fibreglass Cloth is resistant to almost all chemicals. It is often used for making or lining gaskets and seals for highly corrosive environments as well as a protective jacket to protect equipment and surfaces.

Additionally, PTFE Coated Glass Cloth offers high dielectric properties and is often used for applications that require a release film with very good electrical resistance.

Easy to Fabricate.

Though it is tough and strong, PTFE Coated Glass Fabric is also very easy to work with. It can be cut with a Stanley knife, die-punched or sewn. The PTFE coating mitigates the fraying tendencies of the fibreglass cloth so that cut edges remain intact.

Typical Applications for PTFE Coated Glass Fabric (Adhesive Backed).

  • As a non-stick liner for conveyors.
  • As a thermal insulation material for high temperature applications with aggressive chemicals.
  • For making pipe, flange, valve and pump covers and protection.
  • As an electrical insulation material for various types of electronics and electrical devices.
  • Covering the sealing surface on bag making machines.
  • As a release liner on moulds and dies.
  • The manufacture of expansion joints and bellows.
  • For lining chutes and slip ways.
