  • Versatile Adhesive used to bond metal, wood, neoprene, SBR, butyl, most plastics and more.
  • High immediate and final bond strength and excellent heat resistance (up to 149°C).
  • Low viscosity to make it easy to brush on to large surface areas (can also be sprayed).
  • 3M™ Neoprene High Performance Rubber & Gasket Adhesive 1300L meets specification requirements of MMM-A-121.

3M Scotch-Weld™ 1300L is a high-quality industrial adhesive with a whole range of applications. This one-part glue is commonly used for larger surface area bonding and is compatible with metals, most plastics, wood and many kinds of rubber and fabric.

1300L Neoprene High Performance Rubber & Gasket Adhesive is quite like 3M 1300 Adhesive with the primary difference being the viscosity. 1300L’s runnier, less viscous nature (250 – 1000 cps approx.) lets you brush it on to larger surfaces with ease and enables application with spray equipment.

This professional quality, polychloroprene based adhesive has a numerous features and applications. Some of these are expanded on below:

High Strength Bonding of a Variety of Material Types.

3M 1300L Neoprene High Performance Rubber & Gasket Adhesive is used for gluing many different materials and surface types. It is highly compatible with metals and wood and is used with Neoprene Rubber, Styrene Butadiene Rubber (SBR) and Butyl Rubber amongst others.

This adhesive is often used for attaching and fixing closed cell rubber foams (like our Neoprene Sponge Sheet) as well as denser grades of sponge, foam and fabrics.

1300L Contact Adhesive is also used to bond a variety of different types of plastic. Typically, it is used only with high surface energy types and is not compatible with HDPE, LDPE, PE, PTFE or PP without the use of a primer.

High Heat Resistance.

3M 1300L High Performance Rubber & Gasket Adhesive has excellent heat resistance, especially for a rubber-based contact adhesive. It can withstand temperatures between -34°C and +149°C once fully cured.

Fast Acting.

With 3M 1300L, bonding is immediate. Depending on bonding conditions, you can expect a maximum bonding range of about 8 minutes when using 3M 1300L Contact Adhesive but once the two surfaces are joined, immediate adhesion is achieved.

Easy to Apply.

Thanks to its low viscosity and solids count (compared with 3M 1300), 1300L is very easy to apply to larger surface areas. It can be brushed on easily (a brush designed for oil-based paint is suggested). 1300L Adhesive can also be applied with professional spray equipment, more information on how this can be done is included on our 3M 1300L Technical Data Sheet.

Consumption will vary depending on user preferences and the types of material being joined (e.g. porous materials will use more). A rough guide is to allow for between 270gm and 380gm per square metre.

Like most contact adhesives, 3M 1300L should be applied to both of the surfaces being joined to create a uniform, thin, glossy layer. This should then be allowed to dry until no longer wet (4 minutes max.) before the two surfaces are joined. Once they are, bonding is immediate, so it is strongly suggested that care be taken to align the surfaces before they are mated.

There is a lot more information on the how to use this one-part rubber-based contact adhesive on the attached technical data sheet.
