We are very pleased to offer our Superwool Plus High Temperature Insulation Blankets in pre-cut lengths. These shorter blankets are ideal for many commercial and residential insulation jobs that don’t require a full-length roll. All our standard sizes of blankets are offered, the only difference being they are available per metre, rather than per box.

Our Superwool Plus High Temperature Insulation has excellent thermal insulation and heat resistance properties. This new type of blanket is starting to replace those made with loose ceramic fibres as these become more and more regulated. These blankets offer several benefits, including…

Outstanding Thermal Properties and Heat Resistance.

Superwool Plus Blankets will withstand temperatures up to 1200°C (2192°F). At these temperatures they provide outstanding insulation performance coupled with excellent thermal stability. They retain their original soft fibrous structure and do not emit any fumes or smell during initial firing.

These insulating blankets have low heat storage and are immune to thermal shock. They contain no binders or lubricants which could burn off at elevated temperatures.

Easy to Work With.

Superwool High Temperature Blankets are needled from both sides of the surface when they are made. This process results in a blanket with good physical properties which is quite easy to work with. Superwool Plus resists tearing but can be cut easily using a standard Stanley knife.

They are soft to the touch and do not exhibit the same degree of skin irritation associated with traditional ceramic or fibreglass blankets.

Though they are designed primarily for heat insulation, Superwool Plus Insulation has good acoustic properties and sound absorption. This side-benefit can be particularly useful for when they’re installed around noisy equipment or parts.

These blankets are exhibit very good chemical resistance and are unaffected by most chemicals except strong alkalis, phosphoric acid and molybdenum.

Superwool Plus meets the requirements of Note Q of European Regulation I272/2008. There is also no requirement for warning labels with these materials under the Global Harmonised System (GHS) for the classification and labelling of chemicals.

Applications for Superwool Thermal Insulation Blankets.

The combination of outstanding thermal performance, enhanced safety and physical properties has led to Superwool plus blankets being used in a variety of areas. Just some of these include…

  • Pipe wraps, pipe lagging and pipe insulation.
  • Chimney insulation.
  • Annealing furnace linings.
  • Automotive exhaust heat shields.
  • Aluminium transfer launder covers.
  • Welding stress relief.
  • Domestic and commercial oven insulation.
  • Furnace and kiln backup insulation.
  • Storage heater insulation.
  • As a filler material for high temperature composite insulation parts and components.

How to Buy Superwool Plus Pre-Cut Insulation Blankets Online.

All the prices quoted on our site are per lineal metre. Put another way, selecting 25mm as your thickness will show you the price for 1 Metre of 25mm Blanket at 610mm Wide. Changing the quantity to 3 would mean we supply in 1 length of 3 continuous metres.

Maximum continuous lengths vary depending on the blanket thickness. These are listed below:

  • 13mm Thick - Maximum Length = 14.6 Metres
  • 25mm Thick - Maximum Length = 7.3 Metres
  • 50mm Thick - Maximum Length = 3.6 Metres

We are also happy to offer a full, custom fabrication service for this quality insulation material. Cut parts can be produced to suit your requirements. For more information please do contact us.
