  • Versatile Epoxy Putty with Steel Fillers for Added Strength.
  • Fast Cure Time. 50% in just 3 Hours.
  • Pasty Consistency Allows Application to all Kinds of Areas.

Our Plastic Metal SF is a quality type of epoxy putty made with steel fillers. It is designed for a variety of repair and maintenance tasks and is widely used in the marine, engineering and mining and maintenance sectors around the world.

This grade of Plastic Metal has a pliable consistency for easy mixing and is non-sagging. It also has a fast cure time (very fast for an epoxy) and will achieve 50% after about 3 hours. Full cure takes around 6 hours at 20°C.

Plastic Metal SF has a lower density than many other grades in the range which equals more volume per container and a higher yield. This type also has high flexible strength and modulus of elasticity for long term performance.

Repairs made with Plastic Metal SF will have excellent impact resistance.

This pasty epoxy repair putty can be applied in layers up to 10mm deep (per cure cycle). Once fully cured, Plastic Metal SF will be dark grey in colour and withstand temperatures between -35°C and +90°C.

More information on this German-engineered epoxy repair putty is available via the technical documents or demonstration video linked on this page.

Typical Applications for Plastic Metal SF.

This epoxy is used in  workshops and maintenance departments in all industries, Plastic Metal SF is the ideal product for:

  • Quick repairs and bonding of leaky pipes, housings, gear boxes, tanks, bearings, shafts and cylinders.
  • Anchoring, for example of steel anchors in concrete.
  • Aluminium, light-alloy and injection-moulding repairs.
  • The fast reproduction of worn metal parts and to avoid downtimes.
  • Templates and models of pilot series.
  • Repairs of cracks and breaks in machine parts or casting moulds.
  • Manufacturing of clamping devices.
  • Repairs, touch-up work on holes and at points at which welding work is undesirable or impossible.

This putty is widely used in the marine and shipping industry around the world. Plastic Metal SF has been listed for more than ten years in the ISSA (International Ship Suppliers &  Services Association) and IMPA (International Marine Purchasing Association) catalogues and has a certificate from Germanischer Lloyd since 2011.
