3M 1194 Copper Foil Shielding Tape is a specialised type of copper tape most commonly used for electro-magnetic interference (EMI) shielding applications. This tape is manufactured from a very thin, 0.04mm layer of dead-soft copper that is coated on one side with a non-conductive, pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive. This adhesive is quite aggressive and effectively bonds to most surfaces and materials.
When the adhesive is included, 3M 1194 Copper Foil Shielding Tape has a total thickness of 0.066mm (once the liner has been removed) and is flame retardant. The liner removes cleanly and easily from the tape to allow for fast application.
The copper foil used for 3M 1194 resists oxidation and discoloration and can be soldered.
