An anaerobic adhesive designed to permanently lock and seal threads and stud bolts, Weiconlock AN 302-72 High Temperature Thread Locking Adhesive creates high strength connections that definitely won’t come undone without substantial and deliberate force. Like all grades in the Weiconlock range, AN 302-72 is an anaerobic adhesive which means it only cures in the absence of air. This means you have infinite time to apply neatly to the thread as curing only starts once you screw the bolt in.
Weiconlock AN 302-72 High Temperature Thread Locking Adhesive is red in colour and has a higher viscosity (thicker) which allows it to be applied to threads up to M56. It is used in applications up to 230°C. AN 302-72 is manufactured in Germany and has been certified by DVGW for use in sealing and locking gas fittings.

Do I need to do anything to prepare the surfaces?
Sort of. Weiconlock AN 302-72 will work on slightly dirty or oily threads but for best results it is suggested that these be cleaned before you apply the adhesive. Weicon Surface Cleaner is a great option for this.
How long does it take to cure?
About 5-10 hours at room temperature for full cure. The large range quoted here is a reflection of two things; the difference in what room temperature can mean and the fact that Weiconlock AN 302-72 will take slightly longer to cure on some surfaces than others.
