Our Aluminium Coated Fibreglass Tape is a heavy-duty, non-adhesive heat shielding tape designed for reliable protection in extreme environments. Made by laminating aluminium foil onto a woven fibreglass base, it reflects up to 98% of radiant heat while delivering excellent mechanical strength and flexibility. Supplied in 30 metre rolls, this tape is ideal for wrapping hoses, pipes, wires, and cables exposed to high temperatures.
This tape reflects 95–98% of infrared heat striking its surface, significantly reducing heat transfer to underlying hoses, wires, and lines. With continuous service from -40°C to +260°C and a melting point of 537°C, it’s well suited for demanding thermal protection applications.
The non-adhesive backing makes this tape ideal for wrapping irregular shapes. For best performance, overlap by 50% during installation. Secure in place with wire, clamps, some of our stainless steel cable ties or high-temperature silicone tapes.
Manufactured from a woven fibreglass base laminated with an aluminium coating, this tape combines mechanical strength with abrasion resistance. It’s built for long-lasting protection in industrial and automotive environments.

Best bet is overwrap along the pipe at approximately 50% overwrap. To secure the end wrapping some wire or stainless steel clamps over the top of the tape is likely to do the job. Adhesive tapes are generally not suggested for this as most types of adhesive max. out at about 180°C (though there are exceptions) which, assuming your application runs hotter than this, could cause the adhesive overwrap to fail and allow the Fibreglass Exhaust Wrap Tape to come undone.
Unfortunately, no. The combination of the type of weave and properties of fibreglass make this proposition very difficult. We’ve been on the lookout for a reliable one for years and will update this answer the moment we find it.
