Weiconlock AN 305-74 Liquid Gasket Adhesive is a fast and easy alternative to paper, cork, rubber, fibre or metal gaskets. Unlike those types of gaskets, AN 305-74 doesn’t need to be cut to shape and can be easily applied to different sizes of flange. This makes it particularly attractive for users who may need to urgently replace a gasket but don’t want to keep spares lying around.
There is one important limitation that should be noted. This adhesive should only be used on very close fitting flanges and assemblies. It can handle gaps up to 0.5mm so it’s not an option for replacing a 3mm thick compressed fibre gasket. It’s also important to mentioned that this is a high strength adhesive. Not ideal for flanges or connections that will need to be disassembled for maintenance.
As an anaerobic adhesive, Weiconlock AN 305-74 Liquid Gasket Adhesive only begins to cure when it is sandwiched between flange faces (depriving it of air) and is in contact with metal. This means it has basically unlimited pot life which lets you take your time making sure the flange faces are properly covered before assembling.
Weiconlock AN 305-74 Liquid Gasket Adhesive has a high viscosity which means it is thick enough to be accurately applied around turns and shapes on a flange. It cures to create high strength bonds between flange connections that are resistant to a wide range of chemicals and are very long lasting. These bonds will withstand ongoing exposure to temperatures between -60°C and +180°C.

Can is use Weiconlock AN 305-74 with plastic flanges?
Not by itself. As an anaerobic adhesive this grade relies on contact with metal and the absence of air to trigger curing. There is a workaround though. If you use Weiconlock Activator on the plastic parts first this will allow you to secure them with AN 305-74.
What do I have to do to prepare the surfaces?
Clean and dry as much as possible. Weiconlock grades will work on slightly oily surfaces but adhesion will be improved on parts that have been cleaned and degreased.
What do I do if I don’t use the whole tube at once?
No worries, just put the lid back on. One thing to be careful of is to make sure you don’t allow any loose metal shards or filaments to find their way into the bottle (which can happen if you allow the nozzle to make direct contact with the surface you’re applying the adhesive to). Even the smallest amount of metal will, once the lid is back on, cause the liquid in the bottle to cure.
No need to keep Weiconlock in the fridge or anything. Just keep the lid on and store the bottle in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight.
