Our PTFE Gas Thread Seal Tape is a simple and effective tape used to seal pipe threads. This coloured tape is available in two colours, pink or yellow and has been designed and approved for use on pipes carrying various types of gas.
It is manufactured from PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) and is resistant to almost all chemicals and has excellent temperature resistance (-268°C and +260°C).
This PTFE Thread Seal Tape is for use on threaded metal pipe joints up to 75mm OD (nominal pipe size 3 | 3.5 inch). It can be used in assemblies handling natural gas, methane, propane, butane and petroleum distillates.
Maximum pressure rating is 15,514 kPa (15.5 mPa | 2,250 psi).
Like most threadseal tapes, our gas thread seal lubricates which allows for a deeper seating of the threads. This helps to prevent them seizing when unscrewed. It works as a deformable filler and thread lubricant helping to seal the joint without hardening or making it more difficult to tighten.
