Our Silicone Coated Fire Sleeve with hook and loop is a quality thermal insulation solution for protecting or insulating cables, wires, hoses or small pipes.

The hook and loop fastening system is sewn along the length of the sleeve giving you the option to install it over already fitted pipes or cabling as well as making it removable if access is required for maintenance. 

Manufactured from an internal layer of knitted, high strength fibreglass that is coated with a thick, durable silicone rubber finish; this sleeving can handle high heat & tough conditions.

This sleeving is available by the metre in a selection of bore sizes. Maximum roll length is 20 metres. 

Heavy Duty Protective Sleeving.

Our Reclosable Silicone Sleeving is made for demanding industrial applications. The fibreglass core has a knitted construction for added tensile and physical strength while the 3mm thick silicone elastomer that coats it is particularly strong, durable and abrasion resistant. The hook and loop used is made from Nylon and sewn with high strength, temperature resistant yarn. 

This sleeving is designed to not only insulate (either electrically, thermally or both) cables and hoses, but to also protect them mechanically. It has good flexibility and retains this property even after prolonged exposure to heat/cold. It also has a smooth outer surface finish which helps prevent snagging.

Excellent Chemical and Media Resistance.

The silicone outer layer used on our Fyrejacket Sleeving has excellent chemical resistance. A summary of its general resistance is included below (followed by a few of the media types that it isn’t so great with).

Hydraulic fluids, lubricating oils, fuels, concentrated sodium hydroxide,
moderate or oxidizing chemicals, water, ozone, weathering & oxidation.
Usually Not Resistant To:
Solvents, concentrated acids & dilute sodium hydroxide.

High Heat Tolerance.

One of the main applications for silicone coated fibreglass sleeving is to protect cables and hoses from temperature. This sleeving does an excellent job at this and is able to withstand continuous exposure to temperatures up to 260°C.

This protective sleeving will tolerate short-term spikes up to 300°C but prolonged exposure above 260°C is not suggested.

Common Applications for Silicone Coated Fibreglass Sleeve.

  • As a bundling and insulating solution for wires, cables or smaller hoses.
  • Guarding control lines and hydraulic hoses against molten splash.
