Our Zinc-Alu Spray is a hybrid rust and corrosion protection coating made from a combination of zinc and aluminium pigments.

This quality spray utilises very high purity metal pigments (99.5% Al, 94% Zn). When the film is dry, the metal content will be about 51% which ensures very long-lasting corrosion protection.

The spray is rounded out by an acrylic resin which serves as the binding agent. This resin ensures the spray has good adherence and sticks well to surfaces.

Zinc-Alu Spray Key Features.

This industrial grade corrosion protection spray has been tested in accordance with a variety of standards. Some of the results are provided below. More details are available on the specifications and resources tabs.

Zinc-Alu Spray Salt Spray Test ResultSalt Spray Test.

In this DIN 53167 standard test, metal coated with Zinc Alu Spray is subjected to highly concentrated salt solution. The intention is to simulate years of natural weathering conditions in hours.

In this test, Weicon Zinc-Alu Spray recorded a strong result of >450 Hours. Exact comparisons are tricky, but this would be roughly equal to about 5+ years in typical outdoor Australian coastal conditions.

Coating Resilience.

Zinc-Alu Spray has good abrasion resistance and did not display and hair cracking of the layer when put through the DIN EN ISO 1519 Mandrel Bend Test.

This test sees the spray applied to a thin layer of metal which is then bent in a tight radius. The rust prevention layer is then inspected for fissures which would allow rust to penetrate if present. No such hair cracks were found when Zinc-Alu went through this test.

Zinc-Alu Spray also has good temperature resistance. Once it is dry, it can withstand temperatures between -50°C and +300°C. Chemical resistance is also strong and it will withstand attack from a wide variety of chemical and fluid types.
